Wisdom Teeth Removal Tucson

Wisdom Teeth Extraction being performed

Wisdom teeth removal in Tucson is common for patients in their late teens and early twenties. This is the age when wisdom teeth often begin to grow in. A common reason for wisdom teeth extraction is that the teeth will overcrowd the jaw, or are growing with direct pressure to the jaw bone. Our dental office and family dentists are well qualified to treat the full range of possible issues related to wisdom teeth.

Wisdom teeth removal may not be required if there is enough room for your wisdom teeth, if they are growing in the right direction and if they are healthy.

We always recommend removing wisdom teeth if they don’t completely emerge from the gum or stay hidden inside the gums. These are very likely to create future issues. This is the reason why many young adults and parents choose to have their wisdom teeth pulled before any issues even appear.

Wisdom Teeth Removal Consultation and Oral Examination
Patients must prepare appropriately for a tooth extraction procedure so that it is stress-free. We ask that you bring your dental history and disclose any conditions or allergies which may cause a complication during the process.

The procedure usually takes between 1-2 hours depending on what is found during the oral exam. In the post-procedural consultation, we will provide pain medication, antibiotics and aftercare instructions for the following 3-5 days.

The patient should always have a parent or care-taker to drive them home after the appointment. It may not be safe for them to do so alone due to the anesthetic.
